What to Look For When Deciding on a Perfect Wedding Venue

Weddings are meant to be perfect, in terms of the event and the relationship between the married couple. The wedding day is a much awaited joyful, and ceremonious day for the bride, groom and their respective families and friends. Therefore, every aspect of this day has to be paid special attention.

Choosing the venue for the wedding is the focal point of the entire event. It depends upon several things like the type, and standard of the venue, its location, and the services it provides, the number of wedding guests, cost of the venue, weather, catering, and decoration services, availability of standby power generators in case of power failure, etc.

The individuals who are choosing the venue customise most of the factors. Yet there are certain elements that should not be overlooked when deciding upon the venue for a perfect wedding.

If you believe in a traditional wedding theme, then you should make sure that the venue you choose could be transformed into whatever you want. Your event manager should be able to advise you if the venue is appropriate for your theme, or not. However, if your wedding theme is modern, and contemporary, then all you need to check out is the space, and other basic facilities being offered by that venue.

The space and seating arrangement for the guests is of critical importance. It is important to visualise the entire setting, and the buffet arrangement for the wedding dinner/meal. There should be ample space to move around without bumping into other guests. A perfect wedding venue should ideally provide all the decoration, food, and catering services as well as the floral arrangement, lightning, sound system, photography, and valet parking. It should also provide an in-house event manager, who should look after all the details of the wedding.

Even if you are planning to host a grand wedding reception for yourself, or for your family member, it is impossible to overlook the budget factor. Since there is so much competition in the market, you should be able to deal in competitive rates. You should shortlist a few wedding venues before you finalise. This way, at least you would be able to bargain with the manager of your favourite wedding venue.

For many people, hotels offer the perfect wedding venues, and for some others huge open areas like farmhouses or lawns make the best venue for any wedding. The location of the venue is of prime importance. Ideally, it should be held in a centralised place where all the guests can reach easily. Safety and security is another vital attribute of a perfect wedding venue.

It does not really matter if the venue you choose does not provide all the facilities. Your personal wedding planner can take care of the missing elements. Sometimes, most ordinary venues can be turned into fairytale wedding venues, if you use your imagination, and creativity. With a little effort, you can bring life to the most dead and dreary venues yourself.(EzineArticles.com)
